Heat transition

The heat transition is one of the most important energy and climate policy challenges of the coming decades. Heat generation and the heating infrastructure in Germany must be decarbonised. To achieve this, extensive legal requirements for the heating and cooling of buildings (GEG) must be met and implemented.

To this end, the German government is making substantial funding available in the form of the Federal Subsidy for Efficient Heating Networks (BEW) and the Federal Subsidy for Efficient Buildings (BEG), which promote renewable generation technologies and a heating infrastructure with a high share of renewable heat. The opening up and regulation of heating networks is therefore coming under increasing scrutiny, as is the demand for green heat.

Aecoute° assists clients in optimising and exploiting subsidies (BEG; BEW; KWKG). We also advise on all issues related to the production, distribution and sale of heating and cooling in local and district heating constellations.

Specifically, we provide consultation in the following focus areas:

Subsidies

open/close

We assist clients in the selection of subsidies for heat generation systems and heating infrastructure. We check the eligibility requirements and provide support from the application stage, through any necessary coordination with the BAFA, to successful utilisation. We also advise on the possibilities of cumulating subsidies.

  • Checking eligibility
  • Selection of subsidies
  • Submitting the application
  • Coordination with BAFA
  • Cumulation of subsidies

Metering / Digitisation in the heat supply

open/close

We advise our clients on the requirements and implementation of heat metering. This concerns both the relationship between the heat supplier and the heat customer, and the relationship between the heat customer and the tenant/leaseholder.

  • Metering
  • Ratio heat supplier - heat customer
  • Ratio heat customer - tenant / leaseholder

Heating networks and thermal storage

open/close

We assist clients with all legal issues relating to the construction and expansion of heating and cooling networks and heat and cold storage facilities.

  • Heating and cooling networks
  • Heat and cold storage

Legal requirements for energy efficiency (GEG)

open/close

We advise the property industry and energy suppliers on the regulatory requirements of the Energy Performance of Buildings Act. We clarify legal issues regarding primary energy factors and energy requirements, as well as requirements in public and private residential and non-residential buildings.
