Dr. Heidrun Schalle, M.Jur.

„Energy is the basis of our secure, free and modern life. In order to maintain this, we need to shape the transformation of energy supply together, both economically and socially. I am grateful to be able to play a part in this transformation, because it is like life — change, movement, excitement and opportunity”

Dr Heidrun Schalle is a highly specialised, award-winning expert in energy law and a founding partner of Aecoute°.

Born on the island of Rügen, she also studied and obtained her doctorate on the Baltic coast — at the University of Rostock’s Faculty of Law. In Oxford (UK), she deepened her specialisation in a postgraduate course, which she completed with the title of Magister Juris.

Heidrun Schalle has specialised in energy law from various angles — as a lawyer at the energy law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) and on the corporate side as Senior Legal Counsel at a global energy group. From 2010 to 2022 she was a partner at the energy law firm Boos Hummel & Wegerich (BH&W) in Berlin.

Heidrun Schalle has been advising domestic and foreign companies on energy trading, procurement and supply for 20 years. She clarifies questions on decentralised energy generation projects and advises on renewable energies, decentralised supply and digitalisation. She supports charging infrastructure operators, mobility service providers, energy companies and public sector clients in the rapidly developing field of energy procurement.

Heidrun writes and speaks on energy industry topics and comments on current developments in energy law, legislation and legal issues. She is a member of the editorial board of the Zeitschrift für Neues Energierecht (ZNER).
